PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider approval of a five-item consent calendar. On the calendar for approval at minutes and claims, a promotion in the Water Department, setting a public hearing for August 25th and a raffle request filed by St. Joseph Catholic Church. As for the main agenda, the Commission will consider approval of a street closure request for the unveiling of former Governor Kristi Noem’s stature on Friday and a resolution to dissolve TIF District Number Six for the Clubhouse. Commissioners will consider approval of a power sale agreement with Missouri River Energy Services and hear a presentation on the Fiscal Year 2027 budget. That will be followed with the first of many over the next few weeks outside agency budget presentation requests. This week the Pierre City Commission will hear from Capital Area Counseling Service, South Dakota Discovery Center, Capital City Band and Central South Dakota Court Appointed Special Advocate. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
