The 4 Corners Amateur baseball team will be playing in the district championship on Wednesday after a 7-5 win over the Winner Demons Sunday night in Chamberlain.
After Garrett Stout would single home a run in the bottom of the first, Sam Hand would hit a two run homer to give 4C a 3-0 lead as they would lead the entire way even with Winner tying the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth. Austin Hand would have an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead and Hand would add a third RBI with a base hit before Noah Hainey drew a bases loaded walk to lead 7-4. A run in the eighth made it 7-5 but Hainey would get the five out save to hold on for the win for Four Corners sending them to Wednesday’s district championship game. Jack Van Camp would get the win on the mount going seven innings allowing four runs, two earned on six hits with four walks and had 13 strikeouts. Van Camp, Johnathon Neuharth and Hainey worked around six different errors to only allow two unearned runs in the game.
With the win, 4 Corners will be in State Tournament, but can win the district championship on Wednesday when the two seed in the district faces the top seed Kimball/White Lake Nationals after they beat the Burke Bombers 12-2 on Sunday. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 Wednesday.
