PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Kennebec man killed last weekend in a crash in Charles Mix County. The crash happened Friday, July 17th around 12:40 pm on U-S Highway 18, three miles south of Lake Andes. Fifty-six year-old Robert Nicholas Fischer, Junior was driving a 2000 Freightliner semi-truck south on U-S Highway 18 when the brakes locked up on the vehicle. That caused the truck to swerve into a ditch and roll over. Fischer was not wearing a seat belt at the time according to the preliminary investigation of the crash.
