It would be a high scoring first game of a crucial four game series as the Casper Spuds would take the win 14-9 over the Oahe Zap to move to three and a half games ahead of Oahe.
The Zap can still get within a half a game of the Spuds by the end of the series, but don’t want the lead for the Spuds to get too far out with just about a week left in games. For the second straight game Oahe had trouble posting zeroes in an inning. Casper would score in every inning except the fifth as Oahe had a lead at 2-1 in the top of the second and then led 6-5 in the top of the sixth. However, a three run bottom of the sixth and then a five run eighth was enough to close the door and take a 9-6 lead to 14-6 before the Zap scored three runs in the top of the ninth. Emmanuel Ealey had two RBIs to pace the Zap while Ty Farwell would have a triple for the lone extra base hit. Oahe had 12 hits in the game but were outhit still 21-12 by the Spuds. Gavin Fraser, Farwell, Connor Goldberg, Dominic DeCarlo, Blake Imhoff and Dillon Bowie each had an RBI. Kaeden Wilcox, the lead off hitter for the Spuds paced the way with four hits as Gage Dickerson had the only extra base hit, a double.
The series continues with three more games this weekend with first pitch at 7:30 tonight and Saturday and then at 4:00 on Sunday, all times are Central.
