The college football season is starting to ramp up and not just because of the new College Football video game. With just a little over a month away from the first games, media days took place this past week and Lincoln Kienholz, quarterback at Louisville stepped to the podium to answer questions and talk about the upcoming season.
Kienholz transfers from Ohio State and leaves the Big 10 to play in the ACC where he was a part of the National Championship winning team in his second year in Columbus. He takes over as the starting quarterback at Louisville with just more than a month away from the first game against Ole Miss on Sunday, September 6. While at Ohio State, Kienholz threw for 250 yards and a touchdown while running for 68 yards and scoring twice with all three touchdowns in his career to this point coming last season for the Buckeyes. Jeff Brohm, head coach of the Louisville Cardinals brings in Kienholz to take over the offense and be the day one starting quarterback. He says they’re excited about having Kienholz on the team…
Kienholz had a lot of schools around the country wanting him to play for their team, but Kienholz chose Louisville and it was immediately from the initial phone calls with Coach Brohm and the rest of the Cardinal coaching staff…
Kienholz says he and the coaching staff have watched a lot of film together and have worked closely getting ready for the season…
While media day continued, Louisville offensive lineman and entering his redshirt senior year as one of the leaders on the line says the goal is to make sure Kienholz and the backfield are protected…
The Cardinals open the season against Ole Miss on Sunday, September 5 in Nashville with a 6:30 kickoff.
