Over the last weekend, three Pierre Governor Track and Field Athletes would head out west to attend a World Records Camp to learn and do some training with Olympic Gold medalists and world record holders.
Maddie Merrill, Peyton Dillman and Karson Walti were the three athletes to attend this year’s World Records Camp as Merrill and Dillman will head into their junior year and Walti will head into his senior year. Josh Schleusner, head coach of the Pierre Governor boys track and field team says all three learned a lot while at the camp…
Schleusner says it’s comprised of former Olympic Gold Medalists winner and former and even current world record holders are there at this camp. They had someone there for every type of event, for the throwing, the running and the jumping events. Schleusner says you get the tutelage from the old school which is more analogy compared to the scientific and analytic coaching…
Schleusner says he can see how well the three athletes responded to the camp and what they learned, but his goal isn’t to just stop with three members of the track and field team and can’t wait for more to head to the camp…
The camp took place in Rapid City, South Dakota, Casper, Wyoming and Billings, Montana.
