While the regular season won’t end yet, Pierre Post 8 will travel to Watertown this evening facing Post 17 in the final South Dakota games of the season in a doubleheader.
Pierre is coming in at 13-10 in South Dakota games and are still fighting for a spot to be at home for the first round playoff series, but these two games will be crucial tonight. After today, Pierre will have to sit and wait for the rest of the South Dakota season to end next week Saturday. The Eights will still play at the Gopher Classic this coming weekend. Pierre is coming in having won nine of the last 11 games and secured an above .500 season in South Dakota games and are at .500 at 14-14 on the season. Meanwhile, Watertown Post 17 is one of those teams in which the Eights are battling for a top eight seed. Pierre is currently sitting in ninth while Watertown is eighth heading into tonight. Watertown is 9-7 in South Dakota games and 16-10 in the summer season. Watertown is coming in off a sweep of Sioux Falls East back on Wednesday July 1.
