PIERRE, (KCCR) — A busy week for severe weather continued Thursday afternoon as severe thunderstorms and tornadoes raged on southeast of Pierre. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued just before noon for a storm near Onida in Sully County. Shortly after a line of storms fired up just north of Interstate 90 in Lyman County. Many of the storms had tornado possible tags included. A rotating wall cloud was reported one mile west of Blunt. Three inch hail was reported seven miles south-southwest of Gann Valley at 2:30 with the storms. The first tornado warning was issued at three pm for Buffalo County. At least one confirmed tornado was reported near Gann Valley. Golfball to baseball sized hail was also reported near Gann Valley. A 70 mile-an-hour gust was reported 11 miles southwest of Sunshine Bible Academy in Hand County. As the storms moved out of central South Dakota a 105mile-an-hour gust was reported in Huron with tree and power line damage. A tornado was also reported near Willow Lake in Clark County.
