One day after the Oahe Zap came off a four game series sweep in which they outscored the Capital City Aviators 47-2, they would give up 20 runs in a 20-9 seven inning loss to the Casper Spuds on the road.
Oahe would strike first in the top of the first as Cy Taylor singled in Gavin Fraser just two batters into the game. Casper would take a 2-1 lead with a two out two run single in the bottom of the first, but the Zap answered again scoring three in the top of the second to lead 4-2 as Fraser had a sacrifice fly for the lone RBI of the inning. However, Oahe didn’t score again until the top of the seventh. Casper made it 4-3 after three innings and then had a five run fourth to lead 8-4 before scoring eight times in the bottom of the fifth and another four runs in the bottom of the sixth to lead 20-4. Oahe scored five runs in the top of the seventh, but a double play and a strikeout ended the rally and ending the game in seven innings. Garren Gledhill and Landon Meyer each would have two RBIs in the seventh and Ty Farwell would drive in a run. Kaeden Wilcox for Casper would have five RBIs in the win while Jordan Jones would drive in another four runs as Casper would have 16 hits in the game with four going for extra bases. Cael McCarville would hit a solo shot for the Spuds, his second of the season.
Oahe will look to even the four game series tonight with first pitch at 7:30 Central Time in Casper.
