Across four teams, ten Oahe Capitals will be representing Team South Dakota as teams were announced at the end of last week with nine of the ten being Lady Capitals.
Ainsley Ries is the lone Capital on the 14U Girls team as she eight goals and 15 assists throughout the entire season between both varsity and 14U games. The 14U team has six Sioux Falls players, the most on the team followed by Rushmore with three members.
Noah Lueking is also the lone Capital on the 18U boys team and is the lone boys Capital player to represent on any of Team South Dakota. Across JV and varsity, Lueking went 6-7 with a 3.14 goals against average and had an .889 save percentage for the 2025-26 season. Sioux Falls is most represented on the 18U boys team with eight members while Brookings has four Rangers on this year’s team.
The High School girls team and the 16U girls team is the most represented Capitals team as both teams have four players. Starting with the 16U girls team, the line of Aubrey Stewart, Dakota McEntaffer and Mallory Lehrkamp will be teamed up with goalie Taylah Allerdings. The trio of fowards combined for the most points on the team between 14U and varsity. Lehrkamp had the high 41 goals and 27 assists for a total of 68 points to lead all players. McEntaffer had the most assists at 28 including scoring 25 goals to have 53 points and Stewart had 25 goals and 21 assists for 46 points for the Capitals as the three helped the 14U win its second state title. Allerdings grabbed 21 total wins between 14U and varsity as she had a 1.57 goals against average and .918 save percentage. She finished with six shutouts over the course of the season and was the winning goalie of the 14U state title.
On the high school girls team, Kallee Behm, Elliot Bertsch, Ava Lavinger and Brenna Ullman will all team up for the second most from one team on the high school girls squad. Only Brookings with five has more. Ullman had 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points during last year’s varsity season. Lavinger, a forward along with Ullman finished seven goals and nine assists for 16 points while Behm finished with two goals and eight assists for 10 points and Bertsch had two goals and six assists for eight points as the duo were on different pairings but are two of the best defensemen in the state.
