The Spearfish Sasquatch would score 10 runs in the bottom of the third on Monday night in Spearfish on their way to a 14-1 win over the Oahe Zap ending after seven innings with the 10 run rule.
Domenic DeCarlo had the lone RBI for the Zap on Monday as he went 2-3 as the single in the top of the second tied the game at 1-1, but in the bottom of the third Spearfish would not go down. Two different two run homer’s along with with two two run doubles helped propel the Sasquatch to the 10 run inning as all 10 runs were earned as the Sasquatch led 11-1 after three. Quinn Ludvigsen would have double for the Zap, but the team had just seven hits overall to Spearfish’s 16 hits. The Sasquatch added on another three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pad the insurance runs to get the final three outs in the seventh. Three pitchers threw for the Zap all giving up runs as Trey Alexander, the starter, was tagged for nine runs in two and two third innings of work. Oahe falls to 3-10 while the Sasquatch improve to 7-2.
The two game set will end tonight as the Zap and Sasquatch will battle with a 7:05 Central Time first pitch in Spearfish.
