Tuesday afternoon, the Oahe Hockey Association would be a part of the groundbreaking at the Ice Barn as Phase 3 of the Capitalize on the Future Campaign moves into existence.
Being completed in 2022, Phase 1 was the initial Ice Barn improvements which was the New Zamboni, new boards and glass and refrigeration system upgrades. Then in 2023, Phase 2 was completed which was the refrigeration system improvements at the Expo Center in Fort Pierre. Now, Oahe Hockey is moving into the final phase which is getting the Ice Barn to game-ready status. In Phase 3, the Ice Barn will have a fire suppression system and bleachers, parking lot improvements, scoreboard and sound system, and expansions to the south with concessions, bathrooms and warming room along with an east expansion with locker rooms, referee rooms and support spaces.
