When Pierre Post 8 beat Huron Post 7 to reach the state tournament in 2025, Ridge Leimbach, then rising college freshman thought he had pitched his last game at Hyde Stadium. 10 months later, he was back on the mound pitching for the Oahe Zap.
Leimbach had plenty of success on the rubber he toes again during his time as a Pierre Governor and Post 8 pitcher. Battling through an injury and coming back even stronger, Leimbach signed to go to play at Emporia State. Leimbach was a redshirt at Emporia State so he didn’t get to see the mound in the spring which means he threw just one game, in the Legion State Tournament between starts at Hyde Stadium. He says he soaked in the moment…
His first outing was a win for the Zap, their first win of the summer beating Casper 10-8 salvaging the third game of the series. He went five innings giving up three runs, two earned on five hits with five walks and seven strikeouts. Leimbach says it was blast to pitch on a Sunday evening in front of the fans…
Leimbach is set to be a guy who will start, usually on the weekends, mainly Sunday at home as the season continues and he loves getting to be a part of this team…
The Zap have 30 of its 48 games at home this summer.
