For the next three days, athletes from around the state will be competing at the state track and field meet in Sioux Falls and the Pierre Governors will have a total of 42 athletes competing.
The Governor girls and boys will each have 21 athletes set to compete over the next three days with several going after individual state titles. While the Governor girls will have five relay teams, Charlee Williams-Smith will be running in the 100, 200 and 400 meters. Some girls will compete in an individual competition and in a relay or in multiple relays. The boys side will see Corde Austin in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Lincoln Dilges will run in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, Caleb Morris is running in the 1600 and 3200 and Karson Walti will compete in the 100 and 200 meter runs. The Governor girls finished in fifth place last year at the state meet and Larson says it’s going to be really tough to be back on the podium as a team again this year…
