The Sioux Falls Stampede would get a double overtime goal from Joey Macrina to win the 2026 Clark Cup Championship in Muskegon, beating the Lumberjacks 4-3 in the game and 3-1 in the series.
Muskegon would win game three on Friday night to keep the series alive for an extra game with a double overtime win themselves as Drew Stewart would net the double OT winner as the Lumberjacks, down 3-1 late in the third period would score two quick goals to send the game to overtime before Stewart, nearing midnight in the Eastern Time Zone would win the game for the Jacks. On Saturday, Muskegon opened up with a 1-0 lead, but had to answer Sioux Falls’ go ahead goals twice to force overtime for a second straight game. Moments before the Stampede won the title, Muskegon had a couple of great looks which included an incredible glove save from Linards Feldbergs which eventually led to a 2-on-1 where Macrina took the puck from his own zone racing down the side and shooting the puck past Carl Axelsson to win the Clark Cup, the first for Sioux Falls since 2019.
Carter Sanderson, captain of Muskegon and Pierre native, battled through several injuries from the end of the regular season through the playoffs and for the second straight year was playing for the Clark Cup title. He finishes these playoffs with four goals and three assists in 14 games played.
