The Pierre Governor softball team will end the regular season today as the Govs host the Harrisburg Tigers on Senior Day looking for one final win to climb in the Class AA standings.
Pierre is currently in 13th place in the standings and will be on the road for the SoDak 16 regardless of the outcome of today’s game, but can certainly climb in the standings as they face the tough Tigers who are coming in at 15-1 and are in second place in the standings. After losing to Jefferson, who is undefeated, to begin the season, Harrisburg has rattled off 15 straight wins. No matter the outcome, Pierre will up its seed point average and could at least past Sturgis with a win. Brandon Valley is Pierre’s current SoDak 16 opponent if nothing changes, which will be played on Tuesday. Pierre will honor seniors Presley Spies, McKenzi Flottmeyer, Charlotte Hull and Micah Buffalo.
First pitch is at 4:00 from Riggs High School Softball Field.
