The Pierre Governor tennis team would wrap up its season on Tuesday, placing fifth as a team with several flights winning their last match to close out the year.
Brady Lowery in flight three would have the best finish for the Governors in the singles flights as he would win third place finishing a spot higher than his seed. Noah Lueking in singles flight two would take home fourth place while Marty Blanchette in flight six would also finish in fourth as both end higher than what they were seeded. Lucas Hight in flight one would end his senior campaign with a consolation championship. Both Levi Hight in flight four and Jacoby LaRoche in flight five would fall in the fifth place semifinals being eliminated from the tournament.
The Pierre doubles teams would both take home third place as doubles flight two of Levi Hight and Lowery would upset the two seed to win the third place match and then the doubles flight three team of Jacoby LaRoche and Blanchette would win the third place match as the five seed in the flight upset the two seed to win the third place trophy. Overall eight of the nine flights finished at or better than their seeding and those eight flights were never upset by a lower seed.
Pierre scored a total of 255.5 points to finish in fifth, six points back of Huron for fourth place. Sioux Falls Christian would win the boys team title with an even 600 points winning every single flight championship. You can see full results by clicking on the link below.
