PIERRE, (KCCR) — A state highway that runs along side Interstate 90 in Lyman County is closing for a box culvert replacement. Starting today, a box culvert will be replaced on South Dakota Highway 248 from Presho to Kennebec. The full road closure will mean no through traffic will be permitted on the highway from the U-S Highway 183 junction at Presho to the South Dakota Highway 273 junction in Kennebec. The full closure of the 15-mile stretch is expected to last for 20 days. Highway 248 will remain open for travelers up to the work area. Traffic can detour the area on County Highway 14 or Interstate 90 from Exit 235 at Kennebec to Exit 226 at Presho. B-X Civil and Construction of Dell Rapids is taking on the 176-thousand dollar project. The work has a completion date of June 20th.
