The Sioux Falls Stampede would score the final six goals of the weekend with 3-1 and 3-0 wins over the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the first two games of the Clark Cup Finals, in Sioux Falls this weekend.
Muskegon would take a 1-0 lead early in the first period of game one on a short handed goal from Drew Stewart, but it would be the only goal of the weekend. Joey Macrina tied the game at 1-1 in the second and then scored the winning goal midway in the third before JJ Monteiro would seal the game one win with an empty net. Muskegon didn’t fair much better in game two as Linards Feldbergs would get a 39 save shutout to win game two as the Herd would score a goal in each period on their way to a 3-0 lead and the brink of winning the Clark Cup title for the first time since 2019. Pierre’s Carter Sanderson has been held in check with a plus/minus of -2 through the first two games of the series as it will shift back to Muskegon and the Jacks have to win both games to send the series back to Sioux Falls for the decisive game five.
The series resumes on Friday at 6:10 Central time in Muskegon for game three. If the Jacks win, game four will be played at 5:10 Saturday in Muskegon.
