The Pierre Governor tennis team would wrap up its ESD tournament Tuesday finishing in eighth place with Brady Lowery in singles flight three winning the consolation championship.
Pierre would finish ahead of its Class A rival Huron while the other seven teams are all in Class AA. Lowery, who was the four seed in the flight, would fall in his first round match on Monday, but come back to win both matches Tuesday to earn the Consolation championship. Levi Hight in flight four would make the consolation championship, but fall in the match getting sixth place. Lucas Hight in flight one, Noah Lueking in flight two and Marty Blanchette in flight six would all fall in the consolation semifinals.
In doubles, Lucas Hight and Lueking in flight one would win the play-in match on Monday to be in the eight team tournament bracket and would get to the consolation championship as the eight seed, but the duo would fall in the match and ended up in sixth place. Both doubles flight two and three of Levi Hight and Lowery and Jacoby LaRoche and Blanchette would fall in the consolation semifinals. Harrisburg would take the day one lead and add on to it to win the ESD team title winning eight of the nine flight championships. Yankton would win the singles flight six title.
