The Pierre Governor tennis team will be battling in the consolation semifinals to start Tuesday with eight of the nine flights falling in the first round in Yankton at the ESD tournament.
The Governors would get a win from Lucas Hight and Noah Lueking in doubles flight one in the play-in match, but fall to the top seed. Hight in flight one, Lueking in flight two, Brady Lowery in flight three, Levi Hight in flight four and Marty Blanchette in flight six would all fall in the first round matches. Jacoby LaRoche would lose in the play-in match in flight five and would be eliminated from the flight five tournament. Levi Hight and Brady Lowey would fall in the first round in doubles flight two as well as LaRoche and Blanchette in doubles flight three. Harrisburg leads the team score after the first day. Pierre will only see the Huron Tigers in the Class A state tournament.
