RAPID CITY, (KCCR) — An Eagle Butte man has been found guilty by a federal jury in Rapid City of two federal counts for sexual abuse of a minor. U-S Attorney Ron Parsons says 24 year-old Emanual Semon was found guilty during a three-day trial of Sexual Abuse without Consent and Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Semon was found guilty last Thursday. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in July of 2024. Prosecutors presented to the jury that on July 3rd of 2024 at a residence on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation Semon engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile female that afternoon without the victim’s consent. Semon only stopped after an adult entered the residence, interrupting the situation. Semon could face up to life in prison when sentenced and or a 250-thousand dollar fine Five years of supervised release may also be a part of a sentence. A presentence investigation was ordered. Sentencing has not be set. Semon is in the custody of the U-S Marshal’s Service awaiting sentencing.
