The Pierre Governor baseball team would wrap up its regular season on Saturday and the seniors would be recognized on senior day and for making Academic All State.
To make Academic All-State you must be a senior and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. All three senior members of the Governors would make the Academic All-State team. Hudson Shaffer, Bridger Babcock and Jonathan Neuharth. Babcock hit .250 during the regular season having nine runs driven in with two big two RBI hits in the last week of the regular season. He also went 2-1 as a pitcher with an ERA of 0.82 in 17 innings pitched giving up only 12 hits. Shaffer had a double and triple with four RBIs while also throwing seven innings including a complete game win over Huron as he finished the regular season without allowing an earned run giving up only four hits. Neuharth was primarily used as a pitcher where he finished with a 2.77 ERA and a 2-0 record in 17.2 innings pitched which was fourth on the team. The three are the only seniors for the 2026 Governors.
