The Pierre Governor tennis team would fall to the Yankton Bucks and Mitchell Kernels Monday in Mitchell as part of a quad in a 9-0 score for both matches.
The Govs would fall to 9-11 in duals on the season with the loss but Pierre has won eight of the last 12 as the season is winding down and the ESD tournament coming up next week Monday and Tuesday with the state tournament in two weeks. Pierre will be back at home for its annual invitational tournament coming up on Thursday and Friday. The duals finish out the ESD season for the Govs at 2-7 with wins over Aberdeen Central and Brookings however only Huron is in Class A with Pierre from the conference as Pierre went 0-2 against the Tigers this season. The Govs will play a couple of duals on Thursday and then the individual tournament on Friday at home with only Class A teams competing at Griffin Park.
Pierre will take on St. Thomas More and Lennox on Thursday at home starting at 10:00 AM and the individual tournament starting at 9:00 Friday morning, all in Pierre.
