Nearly 200 teams from around five states would gather at Howard Wood this weekend as the track and field season is officially passed the midway point of the year with event concluding.
Pierre
The Pierre Governors had a win from Charlee Williams-Smith in the 400 meter run and Kaden Cumbow winning the 100 meters. The Govs also had two second place finishes with the team of Emlyn Swanson, Ellen Hart, Zoey Bauer and Williams-Smith getting second in the 4×200 relay while Karson Walti, George Rapp, Carter Schiefelebein and Caleb Morris placed second in the sprint medley relay race. Hart, Allyson and Zoey Bauer and Devyn Van Roekel would get seventh in the girls sprint medley relay race while Schiefelbein, Rapp, Walti and Porter Hunsley getting seventh in the 4×100 relay. Swanson, Williams-Smith, Zoey Bauer and Josephine Wurtz would get eighth in the 4×400 relay and Caleb Morris would be tenth in the 3200 meters to round out the top ten finishes at Howard Wood for Pierre.
Sully Buttes
The Sully Buttes Chargers would get a 16th place finish in the 4×800 relay race from Easton Moore, Karson Miles, Jett Yackley and AJ Olivier while Kadyn Westergren would get 32nd in the shot put.
Stanley County
The Stanley County Buffaloes had two compete into the finals on the weekend with Jace Hand placing 30th in the javelin throw and Paxton Deal getting 18th in the long jump.
Lyman
The Lyman Raiders would get a 20th place finish in the high jump from Dawsen Volmer while Cole Kieffer would be 57th in the 300 meter hurdles.
Miller
For the Miller Rustlers, Isaak Hunter would get 16th in the 300 meter hurdles while Gracen Werdel would get 46th in the 400 meters. Hailey, Paige and Gracen Werdel with Jordyn Pugh would get 22nd in the 4×400 relay.
Jones County
BreAna Aske would get tenth in the 400 meters for Jones County while getting 19th in the long jump. Maggie Dowling would be 22nd in the javelin throw while Aubrey Tucker, Molly Nix, Julia Kinsley and Addison Rankin would get 16th in the 4×800 and Rankin, Dowling, Kinsley and Knix getting 20th in the distance medley relay.
Highmore-Harrold
Tenley McDonnell, Emma Salathe, Whitley Baloun and Autumn Fallis would get ninth in the sprint medley relay race for the Highmore Harrold Pirates. Fallis, Salathe, Baloun and Delia Ginsbach would get 13th in the 4×400 while Salathe, Ginsbach, Jaylynn Knox and Mireya LeBeaux would get 13th in the 4×800.
Gettysburg
The Gettysburg Battlers had two top ten finishes with Finlee Heien, Emma Schlachter and Paige and Jadyn Ahlemeier getting seventh in the 4×800 relay race while the foursome also got 17th in the 4×400 Heien, Schlachter, Jadyn Ahlemeier and Skyler Oster would get tenth in the sprint medley relay and then getting 17th in the 4×200.
Hoven
Dannika Kaup had the lone run for Hoven as she would be 22nd in the 300 meter hurdles of all school competing.
