The Pierre Governor tennis team will be at home once again today after hosting a triangular on Thursday. Today, the Govs host Huron and Spearfish in a triangular.
The Govs will face the Huron Tigers for the second time this season after falling to the Tigers in Huron back on Saturday, April 11. It’ll be the first time the Govs will face Spearfish although the two teams were at the West River Invite to begin the season, Pierre didn’t face the Spartans. The Governors have won three of four coming into today at now 4-6. The Governors beat Washington in Sioux Falls last Tuesday before sweeping Thursday against Brookings and Aberdeen Central. Spearfish, a Class A opponent is 1-6 on the year with its only dual win against Rapid City Central who they beat 7-2, the same score the Govs beat the Cobblers. Huron beat Pierre 6-3 in the first contest as the Govs will look for revenge against the Tigers on their home court.
Pierre will face Huron at 11:00 AM followed by Huron taking on Spearfish and then Pierre finishing the day against Spearfish around 3:00, all at the Griffin Park Tennis Courts in Pierre.
