PIERRE, (KCCR) — Another light agenda will come before the Pierre City Commission tonight. The most expansive part of the agenda is the consent calendar which again carries a number of seasonal new hires. This week there are two Engineering Department intern new hires, one Water Department and 31 seasonal lifeguards for the outdoor pool. The calendar also contains minutes, claims and two raffle requests filed by the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area and PAWS Animal Shelter. Only three items of new business make up the bulk of the main agenda. Commissioners will give introduction to the plat of two lots in the Shangri-La Addition and Introduction to a Conditional Use Permit for Multiple Family Use filed by Chapelle Investments L-L-C. That action will include setting a public hearing for the Conditional Use Permit for May 12th at 5:45 pm. The final regular action item is approving a request for proposals for the 2027 to 2037 Comprehensive Plan Update. The meeting will end with Commissioners presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building at 5:30 pm.
