The Pierre Governor softball team has a lot of changes to the schedule as the Governors will still play Friday, but now will be at home to host the Spearfish Spartans in a single game.
Because of the weather out west, the games for Friday and Saturday were postponed, however, Spearfish agreed to come to Pierre to play at game Friday afternoon as the Govs get a chance to add a home game to the schedule. Now, the Govs will head to Rapid City to face Stevens on Thursday, April 30. The other change to the schedule is the Govs will now only play on May 2 in the Sioux Falls tournament and will play just one game although, Pierre is trying to get another game for that day.
The Governors haven’t played since its loss last Thursday to Brookings in a high scoring 22-10 loss as the Govs are 2-2 on the season. Pierre will face 0-3 Spearfish. Pierre will host Aberdeen Central this coming Tuesday as the season hits the near halfway point on the calendar.
First pitch is at 4:00 at Riggs High School softball field in Pierre on Friday.
