FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Grand Theft case against a Pierre woman in Stanley County has been continued again. A fourth status hearing in the case against 47 year-old Dusti Deal was scheduled for Wednesday. In court, after a hearing one-hour delay due to other cases, a Stanley County Clerk of Courts staff member informed media present the case has been pushed off to Stanley County’s May court date in late May. Deal first appeared in court on June 6th of last year. Deal waived a preliminary hearing in July and was pleaded not guilty during an arraignment hearing in August of 2025. Status hearings on the case then took place on October 29th, November 26th and January 21st of 2026. The January hearing was delayed to February when the April date was set. Now the April date has been continued to May. Deal is accused of using a business credit card belonging to the Community and Youth Involved Center in Fort Pierre to make approximately 45-thousand dollars in unauthorized purchases on the card. Grand Theft by Embezzlement is a Class Four Felony that a carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a 20-thousand dollar fine.
