EAGLE BUTTE, (KCCR) — Starting Monday, U-S Highway 212 in Dewey County will see construction from now until Independence Day. The South Dakota Department of Transportation says U-S Highway 212 from just east of Eagle Butte to La Plant will be under construction for surface milling and shoulder improvements near Eagle Butte. The project will continue on the east end near La Plant with similar milling and the placement of a two-inch lift of asphalt. U-S Highway 212 will see work being done at multiple spots throughout the designated work zone. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot car during work hours. It will be open to two=way traffic during off construction hours. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes and are cautioned to slow down when traveling though construction zones. Border States Paving of Fargo, North Dakota won the bid for the 15-point-four million dollar project. The overall project completion date is Friday, July 3rd.
