The Pierre Governor golf team would kick off its season on Thursday in Harrisburg with three Governors competing overall and Hadley Hart would finish inside the top 20.
Hart would start her day with a birdie as she finished at 15 over 86 on the day which tied for 19th overall being three shots back of top 15 and only eight shots out of the top 10. Sittie Kassan would finished tied for 36th at 21 over par, 92 while Drew Rechtenbaugh was one shot behind her at 22 over par, 93. Kassan birdied both holes six and seven. With only the three competing, the Governors did not have enough to qualify for a team score.
Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun would win the first meet of the season with a six under par, 65, beating Yankton’s Ella Homstad by seven strokes. Watertown’s Gabi Olson would be third at three over par 74. Aberdeen Central also had the team win for the day at 20 over par, beating out O’Gorman by 17 team strokes.
Pierre will be in Rapid City for a two day event which begins on Monday.
