(Onida, SD) – Two spots are up for grabs for the SODAK 16 game next Tuesday in Region 6B. One spot will be taken in Onida Friday night between the Sully Buttes Chargers and the Faulkton Area Trojans. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
On October 30, 2025 during the Class 9B State Football Playoffs. The two schools met for a second time. Sully Buttes won the regular season game. However when the season was on the line, the Trojans got the last punch and would end the Chargers football season. What fitting way for this high school athletic winter season to end? Settling it on the court in Onida is the ending we are going to have Friday between the two schools.
The Sully Buttes Chargers who are the number one seed, proved how important to not overlook an opponent was in their 68-32 win over the Pirates of Highmore Harrold. The Chargers are entering with four straight wins and will look to return to the SODAK 16 for a second straight season. Faulkton Area is trying to get over the hump of the second round exits in recent seasons. They enter defeating North Central 67-44 Tuesday. They are 11-10 overall on the season. Two teams with one spot with the season once again on the line. The Chargers won the regular season meeting 53-37.
