Both Cateri and Tahnie Yellow Hawk would win their two matches on Thursday as the Sully Buttes Chargers will have the sisters compete in the state semifinals on Friday.
Starting in the 120 for Tahnie, she would pin her first opponent just 21 seconds into the match and then have to battle through the pain in the quarterfinals as she had a 13-5 lead but held on for a 13-12 win to reach the state semifinals. Sister Cateri in the 130 would get a tech fall in the first round with a 17-1 score before getting a major decision win 15-5 as the two seed in 130 will be in the semifinals looking to reach a second straight state championship match.
In other Sully Buttes matches, Cheyenne Fuller would win her first round match, but fall in the quarterfinals as she will await her first opponent on Friday in the second round consolation match. Paige Jonas would fall in her first round contest and will have to win five straight to claim third place, but will need to win at least two to get a place match for Saturday. The same will be for Kaydn Westergren who lost his first round match.
