The Oahe Lady Capitals would take over the hockey game scoring five third period goals to beat the Sioux Center Storm 8-2 Saturday night in Sioux Center.
It’s the first of two games this weekend in Sioux Center as the Caps are now 2-0 on the weekend, but Oahe had to battle to control the game. Sioux Center would get 1-0 and 2-1 leads as Brooklyn Byl would score both goals, one on the power play. Oahe answered though, both times in under two minutes as Kallee Behm would score in the first period for her first goal of the season. Kenley Boyer would answer the second goal as she scored her first career varsity goal to tie the game at 2-2. It would lead to a 5-on-3 power play for the Caps near the end of the second period where Oahe dominated the power play in the zone and were finally rewarded with a goal from Micah Buffalo redirecting a pass from the corner from Kiersten Miller. It led to domination in the third period as Aubrey Stewart, Emily Nemec, Brenna Ullman twice and Behm adding her second goal gave the Caps the running clock in the final four minutes to close out the win. Behm finished with four points on the night. Taylah Allerdings grabbed her second straight win stopping 17 of 19 shots.
Oahe will finish the three game weekend on Sunday at 12:00 still in Sioux Center. Coverage will begin at 11:40 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
