The Pierre Governor boys basketball team is in the Sioux Falls area this weekend and would drop its first game of the weekend 63-38 to the Harrisburg Tigers on Friday.
Both teams struggled to score in the first quarter leading to Harrisburg holding a 10-6 lead at the end of one quarter, before the Tigers upped its lead by a bucket at the half to 24-18. The Tigers then scored 39 points in the second half, holding the Govs to just 20 second half points to move to 8-3 on the year while the Govs drop to 4-8. Cole Kooiker had 17 points to lead the Tigers hitting five threes on the night as Stellen Larson had 13 and David Doe with 10 as the three hit double figures. The Governors were led by Cooper Terwilliger had 11 with Jerren Deal and Corde Austin each having 10 in the loss.
The Governors will quickly get back on the court, to face the 6-4 O’Gorman Knights today with tip off at 3:00.
