The Stanley County track and field team was set to begin its season on Tuesday traveling down to Gregory but instead the meet was canceled Monday night and instead the Buffaloes will have to wait until next week for its first track meet since 2019.
The Stanley County team is rather young this year with just six seniors on the team and only one is on the girls’ team. Shantay Waldron is the lone senior girl this season as the Lady Buffs have just four juniors as well. The Buffalo boys have five seniors, Trey Frost, Tracy Nielson, Nathan Cook, Jorge Garcia and Sydney Tubbs round out the group followed by six juniors on the squad. Overall there are 38 athletes on this year’s track team for Stanley County,
The Buffaloes will be a part of the Bob Judson invitational in Pierre next Tuesday.
