Capital Players Receive Postseason Awards

As the season ends for the Oahe Capitals boys hockey team, the First and Second All-State Teams were announced as two players were selected, both seniors.

Elliot Leif received first team All-State as he finished with 31 assists and 58 points which were both tops in the entire state. Leif also recorded 27 goals finishing second just six shy of the state lead. His line mate, and captain of the Oahe Capitals, Raef Briggs, received the second team All-State. Briggs was third in points in the state all season with 44 while recording 24 goals and 20 assists. Briggs finished with sixassists in three games in the state tournament.

The other man on the top line, Andy Gordon, was given the Hobey Baker award of character, as he was the representative for the Capitals this year. Gordon was part of the top line that all three recorded the highest point totals of the state tournament, as Briggs had nine, Leif eight and Gordon with seven.

The Capitals finished in fourth, the highest finishing position since 2016.
