Oahe Capitals Begin State Tournament on Friday

The Oahe Capitals are sitting at near the top of the league this year finishing the regular season in second place only behind Brookings for the top spot. Friday begins the journey as the Capitals will be fighting for its second ever state championship.

The Capitals open the tournament against the Huron All Stars. Oahe won both contests against Huron back in December on the road and mid-January at home. Head Coach of the Oahe Capitals Steve Steele says all the focus has been to Huron to begin the tournament…

The Capitals have dealt with its fair share of injuries throughout the season but Steele says these two weeks have helped with recovery, but he’s been able to keep the guys on the ice, specifically Cord Ellis…

And Steele says the players need to be focused and locked in to each specific game and not worry about anything on the outside…

The first game of the day is scheduled for 9:05 as Sioux Center faces Rushmore. The Capitals will play Huron at 11:35 in the second game of the day. All 11 games will be on Capital City Rock, capitalcityrock.com and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler, Jim Lloyd and Jeff Anderson on the calls.
