The Pierre School District has named Buchanan Elementary School Title I teacher Jen Nedrebo the 2021 Teacher of the Year. The Pierre School District criteria for Teacher of the Year includes consideration of positive roles a teacher assumes in the community and respect expressed by students, parents and staff. Nedrebo is now eligible for consideration for a regional honor and will become a nominee for the South Dakota Teacher of the Year. Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt says it’s a well-deserved honor for Nedrebo and a tough decision to make as the District has many outstanding teachers throughout the school district.
