Capital Girls Finish Regular Season in Eighth

The Oahe Capitals Girls Varsity team was unsuccessful in picking up a win over the weekend against Sioux Center which would have brought them into seventh place in the standings but will still compete in the state tournament this week.

The Caps fell 4-1 on Saturday and 5-2 on Sunday finish the season at 3-11-1-1 and eight points on the year. Oahe will face Aberdeen in the first round of the state tournament this weekend in Watertown. Olivia Swenson scored the lone goal on Saturday and Brylee Kafka and Alyssa Stahl scored on Sunday. Kafka’s goal was on the penalty shot for the Caps.

The bracket is set and the Caps will play on Friday at 7:30 against Watertown. All 11 games of the Girls State Tournament will be on Capital City Rock and capitalcityrock.com as well as on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports. Jon Winkler, Jim Lloyd and Jeff Anderson will all have the calls.
