Pierre Governors Fall in Regular Season Finale, Face O’Gorman again

The Pierre Governors won’t have to go back to look at much film heading into the SoDak 16 as the Govs fell to O’Gorman to close the season, the team they’ll face on Saturday again for a spot in the state tournament.

The positive of facing the same a week a part is Pierre now has a chance to have a full week to prepare against a team they just saw without the Knights having another game also. However, the Govs will have to overcome the 17 point loss to the Knights as they fell 65-38 on Saturday.

Pierre received a team high 12 from senior Bennett Dean draining four threes in the ballgame as sophomore Lincoln Kienholz dropped in 10 to pace the Governors. O’Gorman had Eddie Meylor put a game high 20 points in the win as the Knights had an 18 point lead at the half and cruised to victory.

The Govs and Knights will meet again on Saturday in Sioux Falls. Jon Winkler will have the call on Today’s KCCR and todayskccr.com.
