BLUNT — A 68 year-old man died Wednesday in a two vehicle crash in Hughes County. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the man was driving his 2000 Ford Ranger north on 314th have when he failed to yield at the intersection with 198th Street. The Ranger then struck a westbound 2015 G-M-C Sierra driven by a 48 year-old male driver. The 68 year-old driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. The 48 year-old driver was using a seat belt and sustained minor injuries in the crash. The crash happened three miles east of Blunt around 4:30 pm. It remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. Names of those involved are not being released until family members are notified.
