Pierre Governor Girls Close Season, Boys in Brookings

The Pierre Governor basketball teams will both face Brookings on Tuesday as the girls will close the regular season at home against the Bobcats while the boys will play its second to final game on the road.

The Governors are both coming in off losses over the weekend as the girls fell in both games in Sioux Falls to Roosevelt and Lincoln. The Govs have fallen to the No. 11 spot in the AA standings and would face Brandon Valley in the SoDak 16 on the road, the team they lost to in overtime at home back at the beginning of the month. The Bobcats are looking to stay in the SoDak 16 as they are currently in the No. 16 position in the final game of the year with just two wins to this point.

The Governor boys dropped to 13 over the weekend in the loss to Roosevelt, the team they would be matched up with in the SoDak 16 if things don’t change by the end of the Saturday. The Govs, at 6-11, face the Bobcats in Brookings who sit at 3-14 and are also the No 16 team in the AA standings. Brookings did pick up a one point win over Huron last week but have still dropped five of its last six games.

Tip-off for both games will be at 7:00 with the girls game on Today’s KCCR, todayskccr.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
