The Pierre Governor wrestling team had a strong and successful Region 3A tournament on Saturday in Chamberlain as all 14 wrestlers placed in at least fourth place to qualify everyone individually for the state tournament this week.
The Govs received wins in weight classes from Noah Williams in the 113, Kahlor Hindman in the 132, Hayden Shaffer in the 138, and Regan Bollweg in the 220. Another four wrestlers placed second including Nate Williams, Tyson Johnson, Deegan Houska and Preston Taylor.
For the Stanley County Buffaloes, the team will send three with Chase Hanson, Dylan Endres and Levi Stover returning to the state tournament in 2021. Sully Buttes will have one wrestler on the boys side, Chase Yellohawk will compete in the 138 while Cateri Yellohawk will be the first girl to wrestle in the state tournament for the Chargers.
