Governors Can’t Keep up with Roosevelt, Fall at Home

The Pierre Governors led 16-10 after the first quarter over the Roosevelt Rough Riders but were unable to hang with them in the second half as they fell 60-38 in the final home game of the season.

Tyler Feldkamp led all scorers with 16 points as the quick moving Rough Rider team struggled to possess the ball in the first quarter committing eight turnovers but the trio of Feldkamp, Taelyn Ashley and Marcus Phillips all scored double figures to lead the way.

Lincoln Kienholz went down with an ankle injury early in the first half but was able to return. However, he was unable to find the mark as he finished without a point in the game. Jack Merkwan had the team high 12 points on the night scoring seven of the 12 in the third quarter.

The Governors will now finish the season on the road with the final two games at Brookings on Tuesday and at O’Gorman next Saturday. You can listen to next Saturday’s game on Today’s KCCR and todayskccr.com.
