After a struggling loss on Saturday the Pierre Governor basketball team heads to Huron on Tuesday to face a Tiger team a far cry from last year’s state bound team.
The Tigers come in at just 2-11 on the season with wins over Roosevelt and Brookings but have lost six straight heading into tonight’s game. The Tigers are currently sitting out of the Top 16 while the Governors are in the 12 spot and would face the Roosevelt team Huron has beaten in the SoDak 16 if the season would end today.
The Governors are coming in after the 80-46 loss to Brandon Valley on Saturday and have dropped four of its last five games. The Govs ran into a buzz saw in the Lynx that couldn’t miss as they are in sixth in the AA standings. Pierre will look for some balanced scoring tonight at the Huron Arena to pick up a win and keep pace in the standings.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 tonight from the Huron Arena with pregame beginning around 6:45 on Today’s KCCR, todayskccr.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
