Twice is Nice for Capitals, Sweep Flyer Teams in Sioux Falls

For the second straight year, the Oahe Capitals have gone to Sioux Falls to face both Flyer teams and they are coming back to the Pierre area with a sweep for the second straight year.

On Saturday the Sioux Falls 2 Flyers struck first with a goal late in the first period but Raef Briggs tied the game up early in the second as Dre Berndt scored to tie the game at 2-2 near the midway point of the period. Then Ashton Griese scored with just one second left in the second to give the Caps the lead for good while also sealing the win with an empty net goal late in the third for a 4-2 win.

On Sunday, Sioux Falls 1 scored first again, this time early in the second period while shorthanded, but Briggs again would tie the game up, this time on the power play. In the final minute of the second period and for the second straight day, the Caps took the 2-1 lead, this time it was Jaden Flor with 14.5 seconds left in the period. Keenan Howard sealed the win with a power play goal and the Caps picked up the 3-1 win as they are now 11-0-0-1 on the year and in second place.
