Sports Betting Delays Action

The Senate State Affairs Committee delays action on a bill to allow sports betting in Deadwood.

The committee could not take action on Senate Bill 44 because of the lack of a prison and jail cost impact statement. The vote will come later.

This follows on the passage if Constitutional Amendment ‘B’ in November which South Dakotans approved with 58-percent of the vote.

Sparrow says it allow several forms of betting as long as it’s on the casino premises…

Roger Tellinghusen is the lobbyist for the Deadwood Gaming Association…

The provisions of this bill will apply only to casinos in Deadwood and the state’s Indian casinos.
