The Pierre Governor golf team will look to regroup after a seventh place finish on Friday at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron. The Govs shot a plus 51, 36 shots off O’Gorman, the top team.
The Governors had just one inside the top 20 on Friday as Nick Bothun would tie for 19th at a 10 over par, 82 as Sawyer Sonnenschein was a shot behind at an 83. Lincoln Houska would be in 32nd place with a 14 over par, 86 and Jack Bartlett at an 88 to round out the top four scoring for Pierre. Luke Olson would shoot a 90 while Charlie Simpson would be at a 96 to round out the six Governors.
O’Gorman took home the team win at 15 over par as a team while Watertown trailed by just two shots and Harrisburg at third was 14 shots off OG. Watertown’s Jake Olson would finish a shot under par, 71 for the individual win as Hayden Scott of Harrisburg was even at 72 on the day.
Pierre will be in Aberdeen on Tuesday for the Hub City Invitational. Tee time is at 10:00 AM.
