The Chamberlain Cubs would hold on to win the first set, then defeating the Stanley County Lady Buffaloes in four sets on Tuesday in the Region 6A quarterfinal 25-22, 25-18, 18-25 and 25-14.
The all important first set would see Stanley County have a chance and keeping it close to win it, but the Cubs closed it out taking a 24-21 lead after it was 22-21 and able to hold on for the win. Stanley County would dominate and return the favor in set three from set two forcing the match to head to the fourth, but Chamberlain would be too much for the Lady Buffaloes and the Cubs would win for the third time against Stanley County this season. JoRayah Walker had the match high nine kills for Stanley County while Natalie Nelson had seven to lead the Cubs. For seniors Walker, Carlee Brady, Timber Hanson and Austyn Norman their volleyball careers come to an end.
Stanley County finishes the season at 8-19 while Chamberlain improves to 9-17 and the four seed in Region 6A will travel to face Winner on Thursday for a spot in the SoDak 16.
